#161: Barb Munroe (Crescent Point Energy) - A New Corporate Direction & Reflections on Governance from Tech to Energy

 

 

Greetings, and welcome back to the podcast. 

This episode, we are joined by  Ms.Barb Munroe - Chair of Crescent Point Energy - a NYSE & TSX listed company with a market cap of ~$5 Billion on both exchanges. 

 Prior to Crescent Point, Ms. Munroe was Executive Vice President, Corporate Services and General Counsel for WestJet Airlines from November 2016 until retiring in March 2019. 

Ms. Munroe joined WestJet in November 2011 as Vice President & General Counsel and was promoted to Senior Vice President, Corporate Services & General Counsel in June 2015. 

She was the Assistant General Counsel, Upstream at Imperial Oil Ltd. from 2008 to 2011, and the Senior Vice President, Legal/IP & General Counsel, Corporate Secretary for SMART Technologies Inc. from 2000 to 2008.

Ms. Munroe is an experienced corporate director, serving as a director with ENMAX Corporation and as a member of the Alberta Cancer Foundation's board of trustees. 

Ms. Munroe holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Finance degree and a Bachelor of Laws degree, both from the University of Calgary. 

Ms. Munroe was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 1991 and also holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
