#63: Wayne Burke (Link Energy) - Artisanal Energy, Free Markets & Giving Back to the Community

Greetings and welcome to episode #63 of the rose bros podcast!

Today we are joined by Wayne Burke - CEO of Link Energy.

After graduating from McGill Law school, Wayne leveraged his experience in the energy industry, after he thought there could be a better way to provide energy to consumers  that included a higher level of service with contributions back to the community.

At its core, Link Energy is a retail energy provider that supplies electricity and natural gas to both residential and commercial users .

Link also provides a high level of customers service, customizable service plans and contributes a portion of sales to support non-profit community programs.

Instead of having to purchase your electricity from a faceless monolith, Link has made its goal to leave customers with a smile on their face knowing their purchase supports social causes (think artisanal coffee shop instead of corporate giant).

Fast forward to today and  Wayne has build an 8 figure business that in 2019, Canadian Business and Maclean's  ranked  No. 6 on the 30th annual Growth 500 - a ranking of Canada's fastest growing companies on five year revenue growth.

We sat down for a smooth cup of rose bros coffee and discussed the deregulation of the retail electricity market, renewable energy, free markets what motivates and entrepreneur, giving back to the community and a lot more.

Enjoy!
