Episode #15: The Coup - Dalia Kohen (Selling a Restaurant on the Eve of Covid-19)

This episode we are joined by Dalia Kohen - co-founder of The Coup - a modern day vegetarian restaurant serving fresh, whole, organic, local foods and beverages.

Dalia started the Coup in 2005 after she spotted an opportunity in Calgary for a restaurant that built upon her passions for organic vegetarian food, permaculture and sustainability in general.

Through a lot of hard work and passion, Dalia along with her business partners, has built the Coup into a viable business that gained a reputation as one of Calgary's best restaurants with high quality food and a great atmosphere.

Within the past few months and on the eve of Covid-19,  Dalia negotiated a sale of the Coup and has successfully moved on from the business leaving behind a great brand and business for the new owners.

In this episode Dalia and I discussed selling the Coup on the eve of Covid-19, permaculture, the hard work and dedication that goes into running a successful restaurant and a lot more.

As noted above, Dalia has since sold the Coup so it will be interesting to see what she does next!

Enjoy the show!

  • What happened to Tabitha Archer? Was she also an owner? Where is she now?
